Walter F. Horton

Horton who died on Thursday, February 5th at The Soldier’s Home in Chelsea, following a long illness at 88 years. A funeral service will following the visitation in the funeral home. Born & raised in Revere. Walter was educated in Revere and was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1944. After high school, Walter enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country during World War II. In 1947 Walter married Una C. Marsilia. The couple settled in Revere and raised their family. Walter was an employee at Northeast Airlines as an Aviation Mechanic, where he worked for several years. He then took a position at Atlantic Paper Box Co. A position that lasted for over 30 years. He is the devoted husband of the late Una C. (Marsilia) Horton. The loving father of Paul L. & Mark J. Horton both of Revere. He is the beloved brother of the late Albert Horton. Also lovingly survived by several nieces & nephews. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery (Peabody). Late WWII Navy veteran. Revere Firefighter, James F. “Sonny” Robertson, Jr. who died on Thursday, February 5th, 2015 at the Tremont Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center of Wareham, after a long illness. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the Funeral Home. Born & raised in Revere, Sonny was educated in Revere Schools before attending St. Rose High School. After high school, Sonny enlisted in the United States Navy, Post WWII. Once he returned from his Military service, he joined the Revere Fire Department. Sonny was known for having a tremendous work ethic. Sonny also worked with his father in the family business, Robertson Construction. In later years Sonny had taken it over and operated the business, while on the Fire department. 1954, Sonny married Marjorie E. O’Hara. The couple remained in Revere, raising their daughter. Sonny was also known for his cooking, especially at the Firehouse. The firefighters knew when Sonny was working his shifts that he would be making something delicious. He is the devoted husband of Marjorie E. (O’Hara) Robertson of Revere & Middleboro, whom he shared 61 years of marriage with. He is the loving father of Patricia L. Cautillo & her husband Alphonso A. “Al” of Middleboro. He is the cherished grandfather of Christopher J. Cautillo & his wife Erin E. of Taunton & Robert J. Cautillo & his wife Sara of Franklin. He is the beloved brother of Ruth “Chickie” Guarino of Revere, Jean Giguere of Revere & June Littlefield of Lynnfield. Also lovingly survived by several nieces & nephews. Interment is Private. Past President & Member of the Fraternal Order of Orioles, 123 Revere Nest. Thomas R. “Sugar” Scicchitani
Family & friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Monday, February 9th at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St. Revere for Thomas R. “Sugar” Scicchitani, who died on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Lahey Clinic of Burlington following a long illness, he was 86 years old. Tom, or better known as “Sugar” was born & raised in Revere & attended Revere Schools. He was an Alumnus of Revere High School Class of 1946. After High School, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He provided service to his country for several years, and was Honorably Discharged in 1949. Shortly after he returned home, he would marry Leona “Lee” Pearlman. The couple remained in Revere, where they began their family and would raise them. He later enrolled in Wentworth Institute of Technology for 2 years studying in the “Machinist Program”. After working several jobs, he gained experience and mastered his craft and began to work at The Boston Globe. A career that spanned well over 30 years of service and he worked with great pride. Sugar was well known as a dedicated family man & as well as hardworking. He is the devoted husband of Leona “Lee” (Pearlman) Scicchitani of Revere with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with. He is the loving father of Stephen Scicchitani & his wife Nancy of Acton, Amy Scicchitani of Reading & Jody Scicchitani of Revere. He is the cherished grandfather of Anthony Fiorita, Alexa Fiorita, Stephen Ward, Alana Fiorita & Emma Scicchitani. He is the beloved brother of Gloria Johnson of IL, Alice Fitch of VA and the late Victor Scicchitani, Catherine O’Dell & Evelyn Mattarocchia. Interment will be held privately. Immediately after graduating, Rosemarie went to work for Metropolitan Credit Union, working her way to become a Mortgage Consultant. She retired after 33 years of service. Rosemarie was well known for her love & dedication to the Boston Sports Teams. She loved watching the Patriots, Red Sox & Bruins. Her other passion was enjoying her visits to Foxwoods. She was also an avid “Bingo” player to many of the local area Bingo Parlors. Above all, Rosemarie was a selfless woman who was dedicated to her family and friends. She would help anyone in need and offer whatever she had to them, & never ask for anything in return. She was the devoted wife of the late John A. Pawlak,Sr. with whom she shared 37 years of marriage with. She is the loving mother of John A. Pawlak, Jr. & his companion Debbie Duggan of Everett, Deborah A. Grillo & her husband Juliano Grillo of East Boston & Lisa M. Pawlak of Revere. She is the cherished grandmother of Victoria Pawlak, Richard Trimarchi, Nicholas Pawlak, Matthew J. Salvatore F. “Sonny” Cianciulli, Jr.

A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, February 3rd at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church (Corner of Brooks & Paris St.) East Boston. Born & raised in East Boston, later the family moved to Revere. He attended Revere schools. Sonny went to work for the family’s business, “Toody’s Express”. He enlisted in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict. When Sonny returned home from serving his country, he went back to the family’s business. He would learn all facets of the trucking business, eventually taking it over and operating it ,for many years. In June of 1957 he would marry the love of his life, Mildred E. Casaletto. The couple remained in Revere before moving back to East Boston and raised their three children. When Sonny turned 50 years old, he retired from Toody’s Express & began a new career, for the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier. He retired from there when he turned 65 years old. In later years, Sonny enjoyed his retirement with his wife, children & grandchildren. He loved his family more than life itself. He is the devoted husband of Mildred E. “Millie” (Casaletto) Cianciulli , the loving father of Gail M. Poirier & her husband Scott, Boston Fire Lt. Jerry M. Cianciulli & his wife Laurie all of Peabody and the late Rhonda M. Falzone. He is the cherished grandfather of John M. Falzone & his wife Kerry, David R. Falzone & his companion Jennifer Buckley, Brianna L. Poirier, Justin S. Poirier & Renee L. Cianciulli. He is the adored great grandfather of Lucus, Alexa & Skyla Falzone. The beloved brother of Sophie Winn of Billerica, Rita Flannigan of Lynn & the late Martin Cianciulli. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. Carroll, Sr. who died unexpectedly at 83 years. Born & raised in Revere. Larry attended Revere Schools, then went to the Everett Trade School, in Everett. He became a Machinist. In 1952, He enlisted in the in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the Army, he rose to the Rank of Sargent. In 1955, after his honorable service he provided to his country, he returned home& he would marry his sweetheart, Marilyn E. Kehoe. The couple made their home in Revere and raised their 4 children. He began working at Custom Auto Body and due to his vast knowledge of repairing various things he became an Insurance adjuster. He later went to work for Polaroid, a career that would span over 30 years & retired as a Supervisor. Larry was a man with many interest, he loved the ocean and being on his boat. He was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden. Above all of his interests and hobbies, he loved his family. He was a dedicated father and became a very proud and loving grandfather. He made it known to many how he loved his grandchildren. He is the devoted husband of Marilyn E. (Kehoe) Carroll of Revere, whom he shared 60 years of marriage with. He is the loving father of Patricia A. Edris & her husband Christopher H. of Bedford, Laurence R. Carroll, Jr & his wife Marjorie J. of Lynnfield, Christine M. Masiello & her husband Anthony of Revere & the late Marilyn J. Carroll. He is the adored grandfather of Larry Carroll, Ryan Carroll, Joshua Carroll, Michaela Carroll & Madison Masiello. He is the beloved brother of Alice Cardone of Revere & the late Richard Carroll. Rita was born & raised in Revere, she attended Immaculate Conception Schools & was an alumna of the Class of 1951. After graduating, Rita went to work for New England Tel. & Tel. as an “Operator” In June of 1954 she married Joseph R. Kehoe, a love that lasted a life. The couple remained in Revere and began their family, raising 6 children. Rita loved being a wife and mother. She was dedicated to her family, always giving of herself and providing her family with an endless abundance of love. She was active in her children’s lives as well as her community. One other important aspect of Rita’s life was her faith, in which she was a devotee of the Immaculate Conception Parish. Rita was a member of the Immaculata Guild, as well as the Women’s Bowling Team, The Smart Set Seniors and the Mothers Club. She enjoyed spending her time with her family & treasured her time with her grandchildren in later years. She is the devoted & loving wife of Joseph R. Kehoe of Revere, of whom she shared 60 years of marriage with. She is the cherished mother of Joseph E. Kehoe & Francesca M. of Upton, Cheryl A. Frye & Robert of Revere, Marie L. Henry F. “Rico” Barone
Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, January 31st from 9 – 11 a.m. in The Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (route 107) Revere for Henry F. “Rico” Barone, who passed away peacefully with his loving family around him at 85 years after a brief illness. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 11:15 a.m.. Rico was born in the North End of Boston, his family later settled in the Jeffries Point section of East Boston. He was educated in the Boston Schools & attended Boston English High School. Like many people of his generation, he had to leave school to help support the family. In 1951 Rico enlisted into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After proudly serving his country, Rico returned home March of 1953, he would wed his long time sweetheart, Lillian J. Garisto. They were married June of 1953. The couple settled in East Boston an soon began their family. During this time Rico was employed at Keystone Manufacturing in Dorchester, for nearly 20 years. He then began his career with the U.S. Postal Service, as a “Mail Handler”. Rico was known a dedicated family man, he loved being with his family and enjoying the time they shared together, but above all he loved being a grandfather & great grandfather. He is the devoted husband of Lillian J. (Garisto) Barone of Revere. He is the loving father of Linda M. Fogarty of Melrose & her late husband William Fogarty & Michael L. Barone & his wife Ann of Methuen. The cherished grandfather of Dale R. Cibene & his wife Allison, Danielle M. Farnsworth & Michael L. Barone all of Melrose & Lisa A. Barone of Methuen. He is the adored grandfather of Ella, Izzy, Will & Luke. He is the beloved brother of Vincent Barone & his wife Dorothy of Brockton and the late Minzy Barone, Louis “Chickie” Barone & Elisa Derby. Edward E. Azzari

Azzari at 81 years, who died on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center of Revere following a lengthy illness. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, January 30th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) at 10:30 a.m. Ed was born & raised in Everett. He graduated Everett High School, Class of 1951. Thereafter, Ed enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the Army, he served as an M.P. (Military Policeman). After his service to his Country, he began to work for the U.S. Postal Service for brief time, until he was sworn into the Massachusetts Registry Police. He would remain on the force for many years, and was promoted to “Special Investigator” before retiring as a Massachusetts State Trooper. In 1963, he would marry Louise F. Federici. The couple settled in Revere where they raised their two boys. He is the loving & devoted husband of Louise F. (Federici) Azzari of whom he shared 44 years of marriage with. He is the cherished father of Edward V. Azzari & his wife Atty. Michelle A. Azzari of Saugus & Revere Police Lt. John M. Azzari & his wife Kristin M. Azzari. Adored grandfather of Nicholas A. Azzari, Julia E. Azzari, Michael E. Azzari all of Saugus and Samantha L. & Hannah K. Azzari. He is the cherished son of the late Edward Azzari & Irene (Favret) Azzari. Maria J. (Lopez) Cantino

(Lopez) Cantino, who died on Monday, January 20th at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital of Bedford, following a long illness, at 90 years. A funeral mass will follow the visitation at the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere, at 10:30 a.m., followed by entombment in the Woodlawn Community Mausoleum (Versailles Building), Everett. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico on November 28th, 1924. She was raised & educated in Puerto Rico & later went to Nursing School there. Maria became a Registered Nurse. She entered the United States Army in April of 1949 & served until June of 1953, rising to the rank of Captain. During her time in the service, she met & fell in love with a handsome soldier with the U.S. Army & were wed in February of 1954. She & Armando S. Cantino, returned to her native home of Santurce, Puerto Rico, where they would spend the majority of their lives until coming to Revere, MA in 2008. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past February. Besides her beloved husband of 60 years, Armando Salvatore Cantino, She is the devoted sister in law of Anthony P. Cantino of Revere & the late: Carmela J. Caputo & Philip Cantino. She is the dear aunt of Angela J. Tabb & her husband Robert, Joseph A. Caputo, Jr. & his wife Mary-Lou, Camille M. Punch & her husband William A., & Joanne T. Caputo-Carfagna & her husband Alfred. She is the cherished grand-aunt of Denise Tarro, Jeffrey Tarro & his wife Michele, Devon Punch & her husband Matthew Smith, & Anthony J. Caputo.
